Best Designer Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

When you buy discount designer sunglasses, consider your face shape to choose the frame and lens shape, and sometimes even the color. The shape of the sunglasses should compliment your face and is usually done by selecting a shape that is opposite the that of your face. Not only will your new sunglasses look great, you will look good wearing them.

  • Oval - If you have an oval face, you can wear just about any shape sunglasses as long as the size of the frame is appropriate for the size of your face.

Oblong - An oblong face is similar to square in that it is just about the same width from top to bottom with the length being much greater than the width. To counter this, a good choice for sunglasses would be large to cover as much of the center of the face as possible to minimize the length.

Round - To counter the roundness of the face, select angular frames such as straight lines, square, triangular. Dark colors such as black or tortoise shell also help to play down the roundness of the face.

Square - Curved or rounded sunglasses compliment a square face best. They should fit high on the face to downplay the jawline.

Triangle - A triangular face shape has a broad forehead and narrow mouth and chin. Thin rimmed frames with vertical lines work well to help balance the the top to the bottom part of the face and should not sit too high. If you have a triangular face shape try to avoid large frames, heavy nose bridges, bold colors and square shapes.

Large Nose - If you have a large nose, choose a large frame for your sunglasses. Small frames will accentuate the size of the nose while large frames will make it look smaller.

Long Nose - Sunglasses that have frames that are high on the sides drawing attention upward will draw attention away from a long nose. A double nose bridge will also help to make a long nose appear shorter.

Small Nose - A good choice for sunglasses when the nose is small is a light color frame with a high bridge.
